Peaks in Nepal
Tent Peak 5,500m/18,045
ft
The straightforward peak next to fluted Peak
on the southern spur of Glacier Dome is in a fantastic situation
at the head of the fabled Annapurna Sanctuary.
Mardi Himal 5,500m/18,225 ft
A satellite of Machhapuchhare in remote and
beautiful surroundings on the southern flank of the Annpaurnas.
Fairly straightforward.
Ganja La Chuli (Naya Kanga) 5,800m/19,029
ft
A shapely peak standing on the southern wall
of the Langtang glen above the often crossed Ganja La. The
ascent is interesting and by no means easy. There are fine
views of the larger Langtang peaks.
Pokhalde 5,806m/19,049 ft
A view point standing above the popular camesite
of Pheriche at the far end of the long southern ridge of Nuptse's
west summit easily accessible.
Mehra Peak 5,820m/19,095 ft
Standing above the Khumbu glacier opposite
Lobuje, this is a sharpish point on the long southern ridge
of Nuptse's west summit. It is a fine viewpoint and the ascent
is fairly straightforward.
Paldor 5,894m/19,337 ft
This beautiful peak stands all the far south-east
corner of the remote Ganesh Himal above the upper gorges of
the trisuli River. Unfortunately a new road is approaching
the immediate area. Probably first ascended by Tilman, it
is not easy and its summit has only rarely been reached.
Ramdung 6,021m/19,754 ft
An interesting and fairly remote summit among
the maze of small peaks that form the Southern wall of the
(currently forbidden) Rolwaling valley. Not a difficult mountain.
Pisang Peak 6,091m/19,984 ft
This conical ice peak is the final bastion
of the Chulu crest and stands
above the portal of the Manang Valley behind the Annapurna
massif. Although technically straightforward formidable in
certain conditions.
