The Everest Trek

The Everest region is yet another popular destination for trekkers. The choices are many. Some opt for a long 21-day trek from Jiri while others skip 8 days of walking by flying in to Lukla (2,800m). The superb view of some of the highest mountains in the world is incomparable. The high altitude Sherpa villages in the shadow of the towering peaks make another unforgettable sight. The Buddhist monasteries, hilltop villages, the hospitable Sherpa communities and the alpine conditions of high altitude make this a unique trek one is not likely to forget. Often the highlight of the trek is the breath-stopping view of Mt.Everest from Kala Pathar. Most trekkers’ venture up to Kala Pather and the Gokyo Lake, but some make it all the way to Everest Base Camp, the launching ground of Everest expeditions.
