One of our favourite, the Ultimate Everest trek has it all: incredible mountain panorama from the high vantage points at Kala Patar and Gokyo Ri; fascinating villages and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries; and the culture and hospitality of the Sherpa people, who will win your heart. The seven nights we spent above 15,000 feet make this a rigorous trek, but the twenty days hiking allow for a leisurely pace as well as wonderful exploration days off the main trails. When you reach 18,000-foot Gokyo Ri with views of the highest mountains on earth-Everest (29,028’), Lhotse (27,890’), Makalu (27,807’) and Cho Oyu (26,750’) you’ll know why we call this adventure “Ultimate Everest”.

Moderate to rigorous trekking from 2,805m/9,200ft with on pass crossing of 5,422m/17,783ft and day hikes up to 5,550m/18,200ft. Accommodation mostly in comfortable lodges run by Sherpa families. The trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu and includes all meals, services of experienced Sherpa trek guide and porters to carry luggage. Clients carry day-pack only and walk at their own pace.

This also involves spending a few nights in mountain shelters with basic facilities (hutment/basic tea house) and cross the Cho La pass ‘alpine’ style. If the pass is closed due to ice /snow /health conditions, the trek will follow the normal route around the mountain by way of Pangboche, Phortse and Na villages to Gokyo.
