01 |
Fly Kathmandu
to Paro. Upon arrival meet Bhutan guide and drive to
Thimpu. Evening free in Thimpu. Overnight hotel in Thimpu. |
Day
02 |
Full day in and around Thimpu.
Visit Memorial Chorten built in the name of the late
King Jigme Dorjee Wangchuk and the Tashichhodzong 'The
Fortress of the Auspicious Religion .' In the afternoon
visit the handicraft Development Corporation which displays
all kinds of handicraft and products of Nepal including
the famous woven materials of Bhutan. Rest of the evening
free in Thimpu. Overnight hotel in Thimpu. |
Day
03 |
After breakfast drive to Paro. On the way visit Simthoka
Dzong the oldest fortress of Bhutan which now houses
the traditional religious school. Afternoon drive through
the Paro valley north to see the ruins of the Drukyul
Dzong and the Kyichu Lakhang. On a clear day the majestic
white domed peak of Mount Jhomolhari Mountain, better
known as the mountain goddess can be seen. Later Visit
the National Museum located in the Ta Dzong which displays
a rich Collection of fine arts and weapons. Overnight
hotel in Paro.

04 |
Day excursion to Taksang
Lakhang. After breakfast drive to Sartsham and start
Two hours of pony riding or hiking up to the side of
mountain to a cafeteria which affords a spectacular
view of the Taksang monastery, better known as 'the
Tiger nest,' clinging precariously on to the face of
a huge rocky cliff. Continue on foot further up the
trail for a fascination eye-level view of this most
well known of Bhutan's landmarks. After refreshment
at the cafetaria start walking slowly down the trail
enjoying the view of the picturesque Paro valley. Overnight

Day
05 |
Depart Paro
for Kathmandu, Delhi or Bangkok. After breakfast drive
to the
airport for flight back |
